Claudia Peregrina, PhD

I completed my PhD in Biomedicine in 2025 at the University of Barcelona under the supervision of Daniel del Toro at the Institute of Neurosciences. My doctoral research focused on uncovering novel molecular mechanisms regulating neuronal migration during cortical development, combining molecular and structural biology, omics approaches, and in vivo models.

My research interests lie at the intersection of transmembrane protein dynamics. I joined the James’ lab at the beginning of 2026, where I am highly motivated to learn new concepts, and eager to transfer the expertise gained during my PhD to new research fields while contributing actively to collaborative and interdisciplinary projects. My current project investigates the mechanisms regulating Solute Carrier Trafficking
