Carlo Famularo, Laboratory Assistant
My name is Carlo. There are few things I am more passionate about than science. Science offers a thrill from finding things out that is unparalleled by other disciplines. Beyond this thrill, there is tremendous power gained from science that can contribute to society at large. It is then a privilege that I get to work in a way that is both personally rewarding and has broader societal utility.
I graduated from the University of Sydney at the end of 2025 with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biochemistry and Genetics. I am now working as a research assistant in the James Lab. My research studies how metabolism regulates signal transduction. In particular, my work aims to unravel the mechanisms through which glycolytic flux can influence the proximal components of the insulin signalling network.
